It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gary Thornton Sr. (Peabody, Kansas), who passed away on January 27, 2024, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald H. Thornton and Francis R. Thornton (Ficklin); his son Gary Thornton, Jr. (Michelle) of Wichita; his wife Velma L. Humphries; and his sister Donnella Lais.

He is survived by: his daughters, Cynthia Fiedler (Rodney) of Newton and Christina Thornton of Leon; his grandchildren, Lacie, Crystal and Gage; his great grandchildren, Eleanor and Maverick; and his sisters, Sheryl Baker (Brock) and Lynette Windsor (Charles).
