He was predeceased by: his parents, Ira Dunavan and Mildred Walters Dunavan; his son Michael J. Dunavan; and his brothers, Alan L. Dunavan and Daniel O. Dunavan.
He is survived by: his wife Janice G. Hallagin; his children, Brian Dunavan (Karen) and Diane Gibson (Jeff); his daughter-in-law Melissa Lloyd (Bill); his sisters-in-law, Sheryl Dunavan and Janet Dunavan; and his grandchildren, Channing Dunavan, Zachary Dunavan, Ian Gibson, Grant Dunavan, Chloe Gibson, Joshua Lloyd, Karalyne Dunavan and Madeline Lloyd. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
