He was predeceased by: his stepfather Orla Franklin; his siblings, Jim Samples and Dot Cooper; and his grandson Christopher Dean Samples. He is survived by: his children, Roy Dean Samples Parsons, Nancy Sarah and Jim Schoenhofer Parsons Sarah; his grandchildren, Amy Samples and Hailey Schild; his great grandchildren, Byron Thomas and Olivia Thomas; and his sisters, Teena Davis and Shirl Toynton (Chuck Parsons Numerous). He is also survived by Numerous nieces and nephews.
