He was predeceased by: his parents, John Marlin Phelps and Janette Phelps (George); and his brother James. He is survived by: his siblings, Joe Phelps (Margie) of Puyallup, WA, Jeffrey Phelps (Debbie) of Independence, KS, Jeryl Phelps of Parsons, KS, Janice McBride (Steve) of Independence, KS and Jane Phelps (John Gilbreath) of Erie, KS. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews; and numerous cousins.
In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established with Erie Baptist Church and to the Freeman Nephrology and Dialysis Center, Joplin, MO.
