He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Laverne and Irene Pearl Moon (Canny); and his siblings, Robert "Bobby" Moon and Jeanne Moon. He is survived by: his wife Mary Lee Moon (Haury); his children, Robin Moon of Oklahoma City, Jacalyn Moffat (James Moffat, Jr.) of Tuttle, Gwynneth Mayeux (Kenneth) of Conifer, John Moon (Mary) of Oklahoma City, Mary Beth Moon of Oklahoma City and Carol Davis (David Davis, II) of Clinton, Oklahoma.; his grandchildren, Emily Legg, Melissa Diehl and James Douglas "J. D."; his great grandchildren, Oliver Legg Strantz, Malcolm Diehl and Ethan Diehl; his sister Cheryl "Sissy" Gavin (Monty) of Oklahoma City; and his sister-in-law Barbara Moon of Mound Valley, Kansas..
At this time, due to Covid-19, there will be a private family graveside service and a public memorial service will be announced at a later date.
