She was predeceased by: her parents, Lester S. Groat and Pearl A. Groat (Devine); her husband James G. Elgin; her daughter Carol Lynn Reynolds (Elgin); and her grandson Riley J. Elgin.

She is survived by: her children, Gail J. Johnson (Elgin), Richard J. Elgin and Ronald S. Elgin; and her stepdaughter LeeAnn Shnayer. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.
