He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Prothe and Josephine Prothe (Overbeck); his sons, Ron and Scott; and his daughter-in-law Brenda Prothe (Cree).
He is survived by: his wife Clarene Lyon; his daughter LeAnne Prothe Larsen (Jeff); his daughter-in-law Kelly Prothe; and his brother Phil Prothe. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, and 23 great grandchildren.
