It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Arlin Gene Prothe (Paola, Kansas), who passed away on March 2, 2025, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Arlin Gene Prothe to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Corrine Prothe and George Prothe; and his brothers, Milburn and Milton Prothe. He is survived by: his wife Venita Wilson Prothe; his son Michael Prothe (Sharon) of Prairie Village, KS; his grandchildren, Chace, Paige Prothe, Amy Campbell of Newton, KS, Devin, Myrissa Robertson and Aaron Prothe of Norman, OK.; and his sisters, Laverne Stringham and Janet England. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, March 6th 2025 from 4:30 PM to 7:30 PM at the Dengel & Son Mortuary - Paola (305 N Pearl St, Paola, KS 66071). A funeral service was held on Friday, March 7th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Block Trinity Lutheran Cemetery (34868 Block Rd, Paola, KS 66071). A burial was held on Friday, March 7th 2025 from 12:15 PM to 1:15 PM at the Paola Cemetery (360 S West St, Paola, KS 66071).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church of Block or the Miami County Sheriff's Office Cops for Tots.
