She was predeceased by: her parents, Theodore Rabe and Sophia Rabe (Bierbaum); her husband Donald G. W. Hornbostel; and her siblings, Donald Rabe (Eunice), Carol Rabe, Norman Rabe and Irene Rabe.
She is survived by: her sons, Randall Hornbostel (Jean) of Box Elder, SD, James Hornbostel (Martha) of Palmer and Allen Hornbostel (Mary) of Palmer; and her sister-in-law Estella Gardner of Spring Hill, FL. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren.
A memorial fund is established to St. John Lutheran Church.
