He was predeceased by: his parent H. G. Thomas; his sons, Terry Thomas and Tim Thomas; and his siblings, Dorothy Rainwater, Marilyn Brooker, Donald Thomas and Nelson Thomas.
He is survived by: his wife Judy; his daughter Lyndol Cobb (Bruce) of Haviland, KS; his grandson Justin Thomas (Amanda); his children, John Butler (Monica), James Butler (Sonya), Justin Butler and Arnetta Ward; and his sister Betty J. Mears (Clayton) of El Dorado, KS.. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, 8 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild.
