He was predeceased by : his parents, C. Austin Gafney and Maxine Keene; his wife Janet; and his brother Tony. He is survived by : his children, Andrew Gafney of Shawnee, KS and Jennifer (Jeff Martin) of Lenexa, KS; and his grandchildren, Abigail Gafney, Tyler Martin and Chad Martin. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was held on Tuesday, July 2nd 2024 at 9:30 AM and at 10:30 AM at the Holy Spirit Catholic Church (11300 W 103rd St, Overland Park, KS 66214, USA).
