She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas Murphy and Felicita Murphy; her husband L. R. "Bob" Benson; her siblings, Thomas Murphy, Sharon Murphy, Marilyn Murphy, Julie Garwood and Jo Ann Coghlin; her granddaughter Caitlyn LeClerc; and her nephew Thomas Murphy III.
She is survived by: her children, Bob Benson (Jean) and Teresa LeClerc (Byron); and her sister Kathleen McGuire. She is also survived by five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Harvesters Food Pantry (http://www.harvesters.org.), a cause close to Cookie's heart due to her many hours of volunteering.
