Joseph Maya Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Joseph Maya of Overland Park, Kansas, who passed away on October 31, 2024 at the age of 77. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Maya and Delores Mendez Maya; his sisters, Beatrice Ramirez, Juanita Hernandez and Josephine Roach; and his brother-in-law Michael Barron.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia Barron of Topeka, Kansas.; his daughter Stephanie Maya Paul; his granddaughter Lola Paul of Overland Park, Kansas.; his siblings, Grace Hernandez, Raymond Rios of Kansas City and Gene Maya (Kathy) of Kansas City, Kansas; his mother-in-law Juanita Cardiff; and his brother-in-law Richard Barron. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and cousins.
Visitation was held on Thursday, November 7th 2024 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the Church of the Holy Cross (8311 W 93rd St, Overland Park, KS 66212). A rosary was held on Thursday, November 7th 2024 from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Thursday, November 7th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A reception was held on Thursday, November 7th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the same location. The inurnment was held on Friday, November 15th 2024 at 2:30 PM at the Leavenworth National Cemetery (150 Muncie Rd, Leavenworth, KS 66048).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Church of the Holy Cross, Alzheimer's Association and Humane Society.
