He is survived by: his wife Nancy; his brother Ken (Sharon); his daughters, Gena Smith (Keith) and Gayle Gauert (Marlene); his stepchildren, Julie Stabenow and David Stabenow (Jan); and his grandchildren, Maison Smith, Mariah Smith, McKenzie Stabenow and Tanner Stabenow (Emily).

In lieu of flowers the family request donations to Colonial Presbyterian Church, Heart to Heart International or The Salvation Army.
