He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph William Detwiler, Sr. and Mary Ellen Detwiler (Russell); and his former spouse Glaydes "Joan" VanLoenen. He is survived by: his wife Lucy Ann Steenrod-Burns; his children, Debbie Sams of Ottawa and Keith Detwiler (Linda) of Garnett; his stepdaughters, Ginger Millbern of Ottawa and Becky Grauel of Ottawa; his brother Robert Detwiler of Ottawa; and his grandchildren, Sherri Jackson of Ottawa, Derek Detwiler (Christina) of Rantoul, Daniel Detwiler (Alexandria) of Williamsburg and Kristin Meek (Ben) of Hallsville, Texas. He is also survived by thirteen great grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
