He was predeceased by: his parents, Naud Carter and Fannie Mae Jones Carter; and his brother Odell. He is survived by: his wife Brenda Joyce Dodd Carter; his son Mark Anthony Carter; his grandsons, Ethan and Andrew of Lee Summit; his great grandchild Isaac Carter of Kansas; his son John Luke Carter (Maria Carter); and his grandchildren, Melana and Nathan.
