He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred Finch and Patsy Finch (Pyle); and his wife Virginia Kirkland. He is survived by: his sons, Melvin Parrett (Sherry) of Claremore, Jeffrey Finch of Osawatomie and Joshua Finch (Morgan) of Ottawa; and his siblings, Waunita Dent of Ottawa, Patricia Coffman (Tim) of Summersville, Roy Funk (Nancy) of Rantoul and Robert Elder (Liz) of Bolivar, Missouri. He is also survived by six grandchildren.
