He was predeceased by: his parents, Gerald Elmo and Elenor Louise Ball (Blackstone); his daughter Carolyn R. Bates; his brother Roger Ball; and his grandchildren, Kevin Hehner and Angela Hehner.
He is survived by: his wife Sonja Putney; his children, Michael W. Ball (Nancy), Beverly E. Muder (Matt), Rodney L. Ball (Jennifer) and Brenda K. Hill (Johnnie); and his sisters, Shirley Arnold (Jim) of Stillwater, Patty Landess (Richard) of Osawatomie and Peg Johnson of Rantoul, Kansas. He is also survived by twenty grandchildren, twenty-four great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild.
