He was predeceased by: his father Donald Barnes. He is survived by: his mother Betty Barnes of Ottawa, KS; his wife Anne Barnes of Ottawa, KS; his daughter Amy Alfrey (John) of Junction City, KS; his sister Linda Ferris (Jim) of Ottawa, KS; and his grandchildren, Tristan and Grayson. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
