She was predeceased by: her parents, Homer "Tom" Bachelor and Dorcus Bachelor (Kelley); her husband Joseph A. Sassaman; her children, Nancy Miller and Stephen Sassaman; and her siblings, Bill Bachelor, Don Bachelor, Betty Bachelor and Norma Lee Starkebaum.
She is survived by: her former husband Roy I. Courtney; and her daughters, Marcia Sassaman of DeSoto, Lea Boyce of Ottawa and Penny Sassaman of Lawrence, Kansas. She is also survived by ten grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren.
