She was predeceased by: her parents, Jessie Byrd and Charlotte Byrd (Nellums); her husband Lawrence "Larry" King; her sons, Antonio King and Donald Ray King; and her siblings, Ivey Byrd, Lue Birda Byrd, Jim Byrd and Lemare Byrd.

She is survived by: her children, Anthony King (Sharon) of Oro Valley, Arlethia King of Tucson, Alphonso King (Stephanie) of Graff and April King (Twala) of Sacramento, California; and her godson Herman Norwood of Ottawa. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and several great-great-grandchildren; goddaughter.
