He was predeceased by: his parents, Kenneth Carl Harness and Eva L. Harness (Milks); and his siblings, Elizabeth Bumgarner and Don Harness. He is survived by: his wife Cindy Harness; his daughter Jennifer Yoest (Joe) of Cleveland, OH; his sister Patricia Downing of Warrensburg, MO; and his siblings-in-law, Jim Bumgarner of Warrensburg, MO and Blanche Harness of Fayette, MO. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
