We are sad to announce that on January 28, 2024, at the age of 89, Carol Marie Smell of Ottawa, Kansas, born in Lawrence, Kansas passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Marshall Churchbaugh and Letha Churchbaugh (Montgomery); her husband William Smell; her sister JoAnn VanHoesen; and her son-in-law Joel Nichols.
She is survived by: her children, Linda Tucker (Joe) of Princeton, KS and Kevin Smell (Carolyn) of Overland Park, KS; her brother Ron Churchbaugh of Shawnee, KS; and her grandchildren, Aaron Nichols (Lindsay) of Princeton, KS, Jessica Callaghan (Brett) of Ottawa, KS, Amanda Jo Brown (Drew) of Gardner, KS, Kyle Smell of Overland Park, KS and Caitlin Smell of Overland Park, KS. She is also survived by 7 great-grandchildren.
