She was predeceased by: her parents, Howard Houdashelt and Violet Houdashelt (Bryant); and her sister Clara "Sissy" Clemmens. She is survived by: her husband Jim D Simmons; her children, Joey Simmons of Parsons, KS, Tana Pape (George) and Ernestine Marshall of Coffeyville, KS; her siblings, Kerry Houdashelt of Humboldt, Kim Houdashelt (Terri) of Humboldt, Robin Ward (Ernie), Etta Stanley (Ron) and Dorothy Zierk of Bartlett, KS; her grandchildren, Dalton, Damon, Dylan, Davin, Destiny, Clinton, Joseph, Samantha and Semaj; and her great grandchildren, Kylie and Daisy. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
