He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Floyd R. Ireland and Winona L. Allen Ireland; his wife Norma Kay Reeves; his sons, Gerald R. "Jerry" Ireland, Jr. and Virgil Ireland of Napoleon, MO; and his siblings, Karen Flory, Edwin "Eddie" Ireland and Wendall "Gene" Ireland. He was also cherished by three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
