He was predeceased by: his parents, Leonard Ben and Esther Neal Johnson of Alta Vista, KS.; and his siblings, Mary Kathryn Thowe, Ben Johnson and Helen Grensing.
He is survived by: his wife Betty; his children, Cathy Garren (Rick) and Kirk Johnson (Cheryl); his grandchildren, Brady Garren (Megan), Ryan Garren (Amanda), Katie Himpel (David), Kristy Kabus (Bill), Kyle Johnson (Bethany), Craig Johnson (Kathryn Unruh) and Mark Johnson (Emilie); his great grandchildren, Jack, Jordi, Keira, Carter Garren, Billy, Abby Kabus, Paisley, Nolan Himpel, Luke, Matthew, Maisy, Claire, Millie and Annalise Johnson; and his brother-in-law Victor Zimmerman. He is also survived by three nieces and six nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, March 8th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Matthew Lutheran Church (312 Elm St, Nortonville, KS 66060). A funeral service was held on Saturday, March 8th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, March 8th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Pleasant View Cemetery.
