He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Butler and Nora Butler (Miller); his siblings, Homer, Shorty, Jr., Frank, Frances, Jessie, Ruby, Mildred and Norena; and his grandson Sgt. Jacob Lee Butler.
He is survived by: his wife Nancy Poe; and his children, Robert J. Butler, Jr., James C. Butler, Sr. (Cindy) of Osawatomie, KS, Kimberly J. Gratton (Phillip) of Prescott, KS, Karl E. Butler of Mound City, KS and Curtis Ty Butler (Bobbi) of Fontana, KS. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren and 1 great great grandson.
