She was predeceased by: her parents, Lawrence Edward "Larry" Akers and Doris Louise Akers (Stein); and her brother Patrick Lawrence Akers. She is survived by: her former husbands, Willis Raymond "Bill" Birchard and Tom Newman; her children, Willis Gerard "Bill" Birchard of Ottertail, MN and Julie Ann Timblin of Paola, KS; her sisters, Joan E. Koup of Osawatomie and Mary Ann Stewart of Osawatomie; her grandchildren, Alexandra, Zachary, Madison and Caylor; and her great grandchild Aiden.
