He was predeceased by: his stepdaughter Sarah Stubby; and his brother Bill Atchison. He is survived by: his spouse Marguerite Schnoor; his children, Vanessa Burkdoll (Brett) of Beloit, Kansas and John H. Atchison III (Sandra) of Raytown, Missouri; his siblings, Betty Reece of Topeka, Robert Atchison of Topeka and Charles Atchison of Wakarusa; his stepson Richard Ashby (Kathy) of Grandview; his son-in-law Dave Stubby of Wamego; his significant other Ramona Woods; and also, Sheryl Bowers, Willa Winsky, Elizabeth Griffin, Christiann Rimbey and Charley Gunterman. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
