It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Dorothy Marie Schmidt of Olpe, Kansas, who passed away on December 30, 2024, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Paul Kuhlmann and Regina Schafer Kuhlmann; her husband Clarence L. Schmidt; her grandchildren, Robin Schmidt and Alex Hill; her siblings, Doris Redeker, Arnold Kuhlmann, Sonny Kuhlmann, Robert "Bob" Kuhlmann and Roy "Joe" Kuhlmann; and her son-in-law Dennis Burton.
She is survived by: her children, Douglas Schmidt (Laurie) of Olpe, Jeffery Schmidt (Rhonda) of Emporia, Glen Schmidt (Jacque) of Emporia, Deanna Burton of Emporia, Judy Andersen (Jay) of Shawnee and Charlotte Coble (Larry) of Olpe; and her brother Richard Kuhlmann of Emporia. She is also survived by twenty grandchildren, thirty-three great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.
A rosary was held on Wednesday, January 8th 2025 at 6:30 PM at the St. Joseph Catholic Church (306 Iowa St, Olpe, KS 66865). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, January 9th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
