He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Ralph Whitacre and Theral Whitacre (Spaulding); his wife Ellen Jeannette Whitacre; and his sons, Doug Whitacre (Karen) of Lenexa, KS and David Whitacre (Juanita) of Bristol, IN. He was also cherished by eight grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to his church, Fellowship Olathe.
