He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph K. Smith and Helen Smith (Hoerner); his wife Dee Ann Smith; and his sister Jo Ann Neely. He is survived by: his children, Melanie Douglas, Melissa Smith of Gardner and Trevor Smith of Kansas City, Missouri.; his brother Joseph Smith of DeSoto; and his grandchildren, Austin L. Smith (Ciarra), Ayden Douglas and Taylem Douglas.
