He was predeceased by: his parents, Max Kume (Jack) and Hatsuye Kume; his stepfather Maki Kayaki; his half-brother Paul; and his siblings, Flossie Requilman (Paul), Hannah Winge, YukiKo Kume, George Kume, Misao Harada (Dido) and Mike Kume.
He is survived by: his wife Dianna; his daughter Kristin; his stepchildren, Ken Murphy, Kathy Hase and Patricia Murphy; and his sister Mitsua. He is also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Memorials are suggested to either First Baptist Church of Olathe, or to the Earl Collier American Legion Post #153.
