He is survived by: his wife Helga; his children, Loren Whittaker, Karin Gastreich and Peter Gastreich; his sister Karola DePamelare; and his grandchildren, Grant Whittaker, Gary Whittaker, Chloe Gastreich and Claudia Gastreich. He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 28th 2025 at 9:30 AM at the Prince of Peace Catholic Church (16000 W 143rd St, Olathe, KS 66062). A Mass will be held on Friday, February 28th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Union Station of Kansas City (unionstation.org) or to the Prince of Peace Building Fund (popolathe.org/gods-house).
