It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Karen Kay Schmidt of Norwich, Kansas, born in Caldwell, Kansas, who passed away on February 26, 2022, at the age of 75, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Lee and Thelma Catherine Vavra (Ewertz); and her husband Ronnie Joseph Schmidt. She is survived by: her sons, Nathan Schmidt of Norwich and Preston Schmidt of Argonia; her sisters, Roberta Pryor of Wakita and Julia Vavra of Manchester, Oklahoma; her nieces and nephews, Lynette Evans of Wichita, Gina Koehl of Blackwell, Lee Mund (Kathy) of San Diego, Brandy Rice (Eric) of Ark City, James Williams of Anthony, Summer Williams of Wichita and Autumn Kloefkorn (Aaron) of Manchester; and her great-nieces and great-nephews, Stephany Carter (Chris) of Wichita, Colby Evans, Brittany Koehl of San Antonio, Wylie Williams of Anthony and Lawson Kloefkorn of Manchester. She is also survived by other relatives and friends.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Bluff City Cemetery and can be sent in care of the funeral home.
