He was predeceased by: his parents, Kenneth Earl and Dorothy Thompson (Dugas); and his son Scott. He is survived by: his wife Esther Langer of Norton; his children, Eric (Kellie) of Norton, Monica Bach (Anthony) of Woodruff, KS, Natalie Wallace (Alex) of Garden City, KS and Paula McKenna (Greg) of Selden, KS; his siblings, Dennis (Rita) of Beloit, Pat (Sally) of Kernersville, NC and Joan Bargen (Bill) of Omak, Washington; and his grandchildren, Caleb, Calen, Colten, Caden Bach, Marlee Ediger, Landee, Hallee, Baylee McKenna, Brittany Lance, Cameron, Austin Wallace, Katelyn Branstetter, Patricia Ortiz, Kenzie, Kassidy, Kaylie Thompson and Jacob Tharp. He is also survived by 9 great grandchildren.
