It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Merle Gene Hawks (Norton, Kansas), who passed away on March 25, 2022, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John Rollo and Ethel Rhoades Hawks; his sons, David Gene and John William; his wife Ivalee Mae Roeder; his siblings, Loene Bailey and Keith; his great grandchild Zoee Sproul; and his siblings-in-law, Ralph Rorabaugh, Melvin Roeder, Calvin Roeder, Norman Roeder, Raymond Roeder, Ted Lee, Beulah Roeder (Shelton) and Sally Roeder (Hale).
He is survived by: his sons, Jerry Lynn (Kay Hawks) and Michael Lee (Deanna Hawks); his grandchildren, John Hawks (Gretchen) of Verona, WI, Jeremy Hawks (Renee), Hannah Sproul (Brian), Melissa Hawks and Morgan Hawks; his great grandchildren, Sophie, Lucy, Sadie and Goodwin Hawks of Verona, WI; his grandchildren, Christien, Dylan Hawks of Norton, KS, Cambrie, Ivey and Kole Sproul of Almena, KS; his sisters, Georgie Rorabaugh and Dixie Hejny (George); and his siblings-in-law, Neva Lee (Roeder) of Belleville, KS, Jo Roeder of Canby, OR, Joy Roeder of Garibaldi, OR and Robert Lyle Bailey. He is also survived by his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
