He was predeceased by: his parents, Delbert Shields and Catherine Shields (Schiltz); his grandparents, Francis, Tillie Shields, Joe and Elizabeth Schiltz; his sister Teresa Dowling; his nephew Mackenzie Shields; and his great-nephew Teagan Gish.
He is survived by: his children, Joshua Shields, Jason Veith (Melissa), Tracy Crocker (Joshua) and Shylo Baugh (Quade); his siblings, Larry Shields, Lloyd Shields (Clarice), Les Shields (Dee), Alan Shields, Kathy Tschetter (Jay) and Charlene Agan (Daren); and his grandchildren, Collin, Jaycee, Josie, Coralee, Max and Sadie.
A burial was held on Friday, February 7th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Oberlin Cemetery (1006 E Ash St, Oberlin, KS 67749).
