With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James Laverne Hutchens of Norton, Kansas, born in Wilsonville, Nebraska, who passed away on December 6, 2024 at the age of 93. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though James Laverne may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the echoes of his kindness, the warmth of his embrace, and the light of his enduring love.
He was predeceased by: his wife Geraldine "Jerrie" May Steinke of Beaver City, Nebraska.; his daughter Brenda Glenn; his son-in-law David Poage; his grandson Chester Poage; and his great great grandchild Slade Emerald Bull.
He is survived by: his daughters, Rebecca (Larry VanSickler) of Bella Vista, AR and Dottie Poage; his brother Lyle Hutchens of Hendley; and his son-in-law Eric Glenn. He is also survived by caregiver for 9 ½ years; 5 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren.
