In the soft embrace of remembrance, we recall the profound impact James had on those he encountered along his journey. Though James may have slipped beyond the veil of mortality, his essence lingers like a faint fragrance in the air, a lingering reminder of the beauty and complexity of the human experience.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold P. Dykens and Eva R. Kern-Dykens; and his brother Arden. He is survived by: his wife Maggie; his children, James (Chris) of Altus, OK, Mary Ruth (Wayne Byler) of Norton and Leslie (Lisa) of Overland Park, KS; and his brother Dale. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and one on the way, nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 29th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Norton Christian Church (208 N Kansas Ave, Norton, KS 67654). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 30th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Christian Church Building Fund.
