He was predeceased by: his parents, George Benton Sr. and Edna Benton (Spraker); his wife Leila Ann; and his siblings, George Benton Jr., Charles Benton, Margaret Campbell and Virginia McDaniel.
He is survived by: his daughter Brenda; his son-in-law Kirk Ulery of Oberlin; and his sister Viola Bulman of Gering, NE. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made out to Decatur County Hospital, Oberlin United Methodist Church or Oberlin Lions Club.
