He was predeceased by: his parents, Kenneth K. King and Carroll E. King Sr. (Alexander); his wife Donna Payne (Gardner); his daughters, Debbie Thurman and Sherry Gronwick; his siblings, Ellen Leth-Nissen, Marsha Talent, Walt King and Loren King; and his grandsons, Brian Hemphill and T. J. Powell.
He is survived by: his children, Andy Gardner of Nickerson, Donna Truitt (David) of Hutchinson, David Gardner of Norton, John Powell (Kathy) of Hutchinson and Jeffery Payne of Nickerson; his siblings, Karen Curtis of Wichita, Deb Smethers of Atwood, Carl King (Karel) of Hutchinson, Cheryl Hemphill (Mike) of Nickerson, Janice Butcher of De Soto, MO, Edward King (Juanita) of Hutchinson, Sandra Reger (Perry) of Hutchinson, Teresa Strickland (Tim) of Cunningham, Ernest King of Nickerson, Linda Kinsley (Gaylord) of Wichita and Earl King (Jami) of Nickerson; and his siblings-in-law, John Leth-Nissen of Benton, Michael Talent of Pretty Prairie and Carmen King of Walkendorf, Germany. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and numerous extended family.
