It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Wilma Schmidt (Newton, Kansas), born in Goessel, Kansas, who passed away on July 31, 2021, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Alvin; her grandson Nathan Aaron Schmidt; and her sisters, Esther Unruh, Alice Duerksen and Betty.
She is survived by: her children, Christine Schmidt (British Columbia) of Vernon, Linda Schmidt of Kimberling City, Missouri, Elizabeth Schmidt (Greg Nye) of North Newton and Emil Schmidt (Walton); her grandchildren, Lucas Wiebe (Jill Worboys) of Coldstream, British Columbia, Patrick Wiebe of Acapulco, Mexico, Toban Wiebe (Daweon Ryu) of Johnson City, Tennessee and Michael Wiebe (Laura Kwun) of Vancouver; her sisters, Hulda Schrag (John) and Darlene Schroeder; her brother-in-law Milton Duerksen; and her brother Elmer Voth (Lynne).
