It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Melanie J. Baird (Newton, Kansas), born in Winfield, Kansas, who passed away on May 22, 2022, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, John Paul Thompson and Jean Maxine Maddox Thompson; and her brother James Woodbridge Thompson. She is survived by: her husband Charles Richard 'Dick Baird; and her sister Terrill Lynne Thompson Morton (Roger). She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial gifts be made to Immanuel Baptist Church or Good Shepherd Hospice in care of Petersen Funeral Home.
