With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Lora Mae Simmons (Newton, Kansas), born in Haddam, Kansas, who passed away on March 9, 2020 at the age of 94. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Henry Fencl and Agnes Fencl (Neidar); her husband Billy R. Simmons; and her siblings, Henry Fencl Jr., Gary Fencl, Jim Fencl, Don Fencl, Roy Fencl, Wayne Fencl and Mary Ann Griffin.
She is survived by: her children, Cindy Simmons (Ralph Bornowsky) of Newton, Nancy Simmons (Ted Wilber) of Phoenix, AZ and Stephen Simmons (Kathryn) of North Newton; her granddaughters, Jennifer Baldwin Murray (Trey) of Andover, KS, Jessica Baldwin (Kyle Kelly) of Tonganoxie, KS and Hannah Lillak of Phoenix, AZ; her great grandchildren, Jerrica Johnson (Chuck), Lanna Rommel (Ben), Brody Carroll (Miranda Silvey), Eryn Murray, Savanna Murray and Piper Murray; her great great grandchildren, Lynnlee Johnson and Kyler Thompson; and her siblings, Peggy Svanda of Washington, KS, Carol Small (A. O.) of Washington, KS, Sharon Fencl of Clay Center, KS, Joseph Fencl of Washington, KS and Roger Fencl of Sand Springs, OK. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages a memorial contribution to Caring Hands Humane Society, in care of Petersen Funeral Home.
