He was predeceased by: his parents, C. L. Derksen and Lydia M. Derksen (Pankratz); his wife Mary Ellen Derksen; his son Richard Derksen; and his brother LeRoy Derksen.
He is survived by: his children, Robert Derksen (Debra) of Iowa City, Roger Derksen (Sara) of Conroe, Texas and Ruth Church (Bobby) of Newton; and his sisters, Vernelle Koehn (Dale) of Hesston, Florence Almond (Tom) of Wichita, Jeanette Nixon of Newton and Millie Derksen of Hesston. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
