He was predeceased by: his parents, Willard Thiessen and Lena Thiessen (Neufeld); and his daughter-in-law Cheryl Gottschalk. He is survived by: his wife Jo Ann Gottschalk (Giebler); his children, Garry Thiessen of Ames, Brent Thiessen (Wendy) of Marshalltown, Scott Thiessen (Tammy) of Avon, Cory Gottschalk of Norman, Chad Gottschalk (Cassie) of Wichita and Nichole Thiessen of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; and his sisters, Jolyn (Dave Stark) and Lavada (Dan Klinger). He is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter; many nieces and nephews.
