Iva Lavon Reber Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Iva Lavon Reber (Newton, Kansas), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on November 7, 2024 at the age of 89. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Menno Schmidt and Esther Schmidt; her husband Bob (Bob); her sister Gladys Niles; her brother-in-law Clarence Niles; her nieces, Jan Niles and Gail Niles Stucky; and her grandson Brantley Taylor.
She is survived by: her children, Pam Taylor, Winfield, Carol Immenschuh (Kent), Ron Reber, Newton and Doug Reber (Bridget); her grandchildren, Bryan Taylor (Taryn), Jenna Taylor Patterson (Patrick), Sarah Immenschuh Brawner (Dave), Laura Immenschuh, Alli Reber Houghan (Stephen), Nikki Reber Coykendal (Sean), Charlie Reber and Natalie Reber; and her great grandchildren, Gentry Taylor, Maisyn Taylor, Otto Patterson, Oliver Patterson, Bennett Patterson, Caroline Houghan Henry Houghan, Avery Coykendal and Jackson Coykendal.
Visitation was held on Thursday, November 14th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Broadway Colonial Funeral Home (120 E Broadway St, Newton, KS 67114). A funeral service was held on Friday, November 15th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 2:45 PM at the Trinity Heights United Methodist Church (1200 Boyd Ave, Newton, KS 67114). A burial was held on Friday, November 15th 2024 from 2:45 PM to 3:30 PM at the Greenwood Cemetery (1100 E 1st St, Newton, KS 67114). She was committed to volunteerism which included delivering Meals on Wheels with Bob, volunteering at the Bethel Hospital Gift Shop, RSVP, Nomads, PTA, Rural Life and at the Harvey County Fair Horticulture area form many years.
Memorials are suggested to Kidron Bethel Life Enrichment or to Good Shepherd Hospice and may be left with the funeral home.
