She was predeceased by: her parents, John Jacob Penner and Augusta Evelyn Penner (Schroeder); her husband LeRoy Smith; and her siblings, Vernon Penner, John Henry Penner and Bernice Penner.
She is survived by: her children, Stan Smith of Kansas City, MO, Steve Smith (Chris) of Manhattan, KS, Barbara Claassen (Sam) of Newton, KS, Roger Neufeld Smith (Cynthia) of Topeka, KS and Dianne Schmidt (Dennis) of North Newton, KS; and her siblings, Frank Penner, Lawrence Penner, Lucille Smith and Max Penner. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren.
