He was predeceased by: his parents, Helen Gurley and Joseph Gurley; his children, Jackie Gurley and Patti Herring; and his sister Jeri Roth.

He is survived by: his wife Carol Gurley; his sons, Billy Gurley (Traci), Darrell Gurley and David Evans (Erin); and his grandchildren, Kristin Gaito (John), Kevin Gurley, Jace Evans and Matthew Evans.
